Cloud Server Infrastructure Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Server Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing cloud server infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute virtual machine migrations across multiple environments with minimal downtime.
  • Administer and maintain Linux-based systems supporting production workloads.
  • Manage and operate hypervisor platforms (Proxmox VE, VMware) for provisioning, migration, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (Bash, Perl; Python optional) to support migration, monitoring, and routine operations.
  • Implement and manage infrastructure automation using Puppet and Ansible for system configuration, deployment, and scaling.
  • Create and review Migration Plans (MOPs) and Change Management Requests (CMRs) to ensure smooth execution.
  • Perform scheduled out-of-hours maintenance in alignment with change management processes.
  • Support the decommissioning of legacy systems, including service removal, data sanitization, and e-waste compliance.
  • Document and maintain accurate system, process, and migration records.
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
Qualifications:

Strong hands-on experience with Linux administration (Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL, or similar).

Proven expertise with hypervisors: Proxmox VE and VMware vSphere/ESXi.

Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Perl; Python a plus).

Practical experience with infrastructure automation (Puppet, Ansible).

Track record of successful VM migrations in enterprise environments.

Knowledge of change management practices (MOPs, CMRs).

Excellent troubleshooting skills in virtualized and Linux environments.

Ability to work flexible hours, including out-of-hours maintenance windows.

Strong communication and documentation skills.
