Job Overview

Canonical seeks a skilled Security Risk Management Specialist to join its team. This role involves defining and implementing security risk management standards, analyzing and improving existing practices, and evaluating new tools and methods.


The successful candidate will have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively. A strong understanding of security risk frameworks, threat modeling, and risk management methodologies is essential.


In this role, you will contribute to the development and execution of Canonical's security risk management strategy, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and implement security risk management standards and playbooks.
  • Analyze and improve existing security risk practices.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement new security requirements, tools, and practices.
  • Grow the presence and thought leadership of Canonical's security risk management practice.
  • Develop learning and development materials for security risk management.
  • Work with Security leadership to present information and influence change.
  • Participate in developing key risk indicators, provide inputs to the development of key control indicators, and key performance indicators for various programs.
  • Apply statistical models to risk frameworks (such as FAIR, sensitivity analysis, and others).
  • Lead quantified risk assessments and understand the value of qualitative data for improvements to quality and engineering processes.
