Job Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and technically proficient Drafter with specialized experience in furniture production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform drafting and design documentation duties: create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, translate design concepts into fully dimensioned production-ready technical documents, and prepare exploded views and assembly instructions.
  • Collaborate with designers and production teams to ensure technical drawings align with design intent, manufacturing capabilities, and material specifications.
  • Review and adjust designs for structural integrity, ergonomics, and material efficiency, and provide technical support during prototyping, fabrication, and installation phases.
  • Ensure all designs comply with applicable safety and quality standards, perform checks on all drawings before release, and work with vendors and suppliers to verify component compatibility and cost-efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Industrial Design, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical drafting, specifically in the furniture manufacturing or millwork industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, materials, and hardware used in furniture production.
  • Familiarity with CNC production workflows, material optimization, and lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks, Revit, or other drafting/CAD software.
