Technical Drafter

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Technical Drafter. This position requires the ability to transform concepts and specifications into precise technical drawings that guide the fabrication and assembly of custom furniture products.

In this capacity, you will work closely with engineers, designers, and production staff to ensure that all technical documentation meets both aesthetic and functional standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in drafting, deep knowledge of materials and construction methods used in furniture making, and the ability to work efficiently in a collaborative environment.

The key responsibilities of this role include creating detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software, translating design concepts and sketches into fully dimensioned production-ready technical documents, and preparing exploded views, assembly instructions, and component lists to support fabrication and installation processes.

Requirements:

  • A strong understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, materials, and hardware used in furniture production is essential for success in this role.
  • Familiarity with CNC production workflows, material optimization, and lean manufacturing principles is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks, Revit, or other drafting/CAD software is required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high standards for accuracy and quality are necessary for delivering outstanding results.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and design drawings and translate them into shop drawings is critical for success in this role.
