Network Engineer Role

This is a critical role within the Sales Engineering team, focusing on providing pre-sales technical systems engineering support to customers.

You will partner with Account Managers to understand customer pain points and conduct in-depth network architectural reviews. This includes conducting product presentations of our networking solutions, such as Open Networking Data Center and Cognitive Campus (including Wi-Fi) networking, CloudVision (Network Automation), Security (Network Detection), Endpoint Security and Real-time Fabric Monitoring solutions.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in architecting, designing and proposing data center & campus network solutions using leaf-spine architectures (VxLAN, EVPN) and network overlays to capture additional sales.

The selected individual will perform hands-on tests to validate customer proof-of-concept setups, data center and/or campus network designs, and network deployments using new products and features.

They will also put together design guidelines and recommend improvements to customers for the networks they support, partner with Sales Team to respond to RFP/RFQs, provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering, represent us at industry events and conferences, keep up-to-date on competitive solutions, products and services, and author white papers on technology and products.

We are seeking candidates based out of specific areas who possess a strong background in network engineering, including experience with routing and switching, Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, Multicast, Spanning Tree, QoS, and industry-standard CLI.

A plus would be experience building network automation using Python and Ansible, knowledge of competitor technology landscapes, and ability to write white papers.

This position is offered on a contract basis for an initial one-year term, with the intention of renewing it each year. The successful candidate must have the legal right to work in Japan.
