Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to design, implement and maintain scalable and secure cloud environments. This individual will drive cloud strategy and ensure efficient operation of cloud-based systems.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cloud architectures, particularly AWS. They should be proficient in administering AWS services such as ECS, CloudFront, CloudFormation/Terraform, CloudWatch, IAM and more.

  • Cloud Skills:
  • Continuous Deployment (CD): Develop and maintain automated pipelines, integrating tools for efficient software delivery.
  • Containers: Manage and support Docker and Kubernetes for enhanced scalability and flexibility.
  • Observability: Implement Application Performance Monitoring (APM) solutions and use CloudWatch, CloudWatch Events/Alarms, syslogs and other cloud analytics tools.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate tasks using IaC with tools like Terraform to streamline deployment of containers and EC2 instances.
  • Release Management: Support developers with release issues, build automated release frameworks and integrate test automation into CI/CD processes.
  • Security: Apply AWS security best practices to protect infrastructure.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of AWS cloud architecture, security and compliance, as well as expertise in Docker, Kubernetes and container management tools.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes and container management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS cloud architecture, security and compliance.
  • Proficiency with observability tools and APM solutions.
  • Experience with IaC and automation tools.
  • IT operations skills including troubleshooting, server management, database management and network troubleshooting.
  • System administration skills: Apache/Nginx configuration, OS updates and patching.
  • Strong scripting skills.
  • Ability to write clear documentation.
