Job Summary

This role is focused on building and delivering data integrations from various sources into a centralized data warehouse technical stack. Ensuring accurate data delivery to systems is paramount in this position. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing ETL components, understanding business and data requirements, defining solution approaches, and leveraging monitoring tools to track the status of ETL pipelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement ETL components to deliver data efficiently.
  • Develop Matillion ETL scripts and ETL orchestrations as required.
  • Ensure the team follows best practices in ETL development.
  • Leverage monitoring tools to track the status of ETL pipelines for performance and completion.
  • Develop complex SQL queries and stored procedures to extract and insert data into and from the data warehouse.
  • Engage with business analysts and technical architects to clarify business requirements and offer recommendations for improvements.
  • Contribute to defining a scalable data warehouse architecture.
  • Coordinate production, development, and sandbox environments.
  • Coordinate releases with DevOps teams and prepare documentation related to release.
  • Participate in peer code reviews.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members on technologies and processes.
  • Provide support and recommendations for testing and UAT for work being delivered.
  • Provide out-of-hours support as requested for incidents.
  • Participate in routine maintenance, performance tuning, and support of ETL and the DW environment.
Requirements
  • Essential:
  • 2+ years of IT experience required in working with ETL in an enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge in ETL design methodologies, including best practices, performance tuning, architecture, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Knowledge of at least one ETL tool (SSIS, Informatica, Matillion, Talend, etc.).
  • Experience with relational and dimensional data modeling and ability to represent data using standard modeling techniques.
  • Proficient with SQL and stored procedures.
  • Experience in working with at least one of these warehouse technologies such as SQL, Snowflake, AWS Redshift.
  • Knowledge of processes when working on pre-release environments, moving changes between environments.
  • Ability to deliver work to schedule (self-manage workload and priorities).
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Passionate about complex data structures and problem-solving.
  • Ability to pick up new data tools and concepts quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Amenable to work remotely.
  • Amenable to work on EMEA Shift (4PM-1AM PHT).
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with developing and testing APIs.
  • Experience with Snowflake and/or columnar data stores.
  • Experience with PowerBI.
  • Experience designing and managing end-to-end business reporting, from data sourcing and mapping through to the production and delivery of reports.
  • Experience defining, implementing, and building products and roll-out strategy for Data Quality, MDM, and Data Governance.
