Key Role in Project Success

The Consulting Manager plays a pivotal part in ensuring engagement success and effective people management. This role collaborates with GDC Leadership, Operations, and Resource Management to optimize project staffing and maintain proper delivery team utilization.

This position assigns project resources to client engagements and builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders based on partnership, cooperation, and trust.

  • Collaborate with GDC Consulting Operations to assign project resources to client engagements.
  • Establish partnerships with internal stakeholders based on mutual trust and cooperation.
  • Manage own projects where required.
  • Oversee concurrent client projects while identifying risk, escalations, and issue resolution.
  • Resolve escalations between projects, clients, or internal organizations efficiently.
  • Plan and coordinate project activities between clients and internal/external resources.
  • Mentor staff in Agile methodologies and best practices to enhance project delivery.
  • Communicate clear responsibilities, accountabilities, and growth plans to teams.
  • Ensure bench time for Consultants is used to improve skills in line with Practice technology roadmaps.
  • Monitor program scope alignment with strategic business objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed as a Consulting Manager, you will need:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated client relationship skills and experience setting and managing client expectations.
  • Strong verbal and writing skills.
  • Effective communication up to Executive Levels.
  • Experience aligning diverse teams across multiple locations to deliver projects.
  • Strong collaboration with GDC Leadership.
  • Deep knowledge in internal stakeholder management, people management, and software project delivery.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound work plans.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team of up to 20 people.
  • Composure in challenging situations.
  • Agile best practices and delivery methodologies expertise.
