Job Overview

This is a key position within our organization, responsible for managing financial engagements from planning to completion with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Take full ownership of assigned files and manage engagement work independently.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients by understanding their business models and providing timely communication.
  • Participate in strategic meetings and contribute to engagement strategy with input from senior team members.
  • Review prior year files, draft preparatory client questions, and ensure smooth file progression.
  • Prepare compiled financial statements, note disclosures where applicable, and corporate tax returns.
  • Perform GL account reviews for reasonability and accurate allocations.
  • Reconcile Canadian investment accounts and track tax-reporting data for capital assets.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding assessments and client accounts.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in Canadian public accounting.
  • CPA designation in progress or newly earned.
  • Proficient with iFirm, Tax Prep, and CaseWare/CaseView software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, essential for client-facing experience.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and balance multiple engagements.
