Job Title: Senior Merchandise Planner

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the Allocation and Store Analysts team to ensure that products are placed in stores at the right time. This role is critical in aligning inventory with demand, managing procurement from suppliers, collaborating with sales teams to forecast needs, and overseeing allocations across wholesale and retail channels.

This position requires a deep understanding of inventory management principles and practices. The successful candidate will be able to analyze sales forecasts, identify trends, and make informed decisions about stock orders and warehouse levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Allocation & Store Analysts team to drive sales performance and optimize inventory levels.
  • Analyze sales data and forecasting tools to inform stock allocation decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and merchandising, to ensure alignment and maximize sales opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding product availability, delivery, and planning updates.
  • Coordinate seasonal events and promotions with merchandising teams to drive in-store demand.
  • Complete monthly Open-to-Buy (OTB) reviews and reforecasting activities to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Manage article creation and maintenance, as well as purchase order accuracy.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Merchandise Planner and Allocator, with a focus on merchandise planning and retail allocations.
  • Proven background in multi-store or multi-channel retail operations, with strong hands-on experience in stock allocations.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data analysis to drive allocation accuracy and improve sales outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with solid knowledge of intermediate formulas such as XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, MROUND, CEILING, and CONCATENATE.
  • Skilled in sales forecasting and inventory planning, with the ability to interpret sales trends and plan stock orders.
  • Strong analytical thinking and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and proactive stock management.
  • Accountability and ownership, with the ability to manage key tasks independently without constant reminders.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • System Proficiency: Proficient in using planning and ERP systems, with the ability to efficiently input, manage, and update forecasts.
  • Master Data Management: Experienced in managing seasonal article creation, maintaining master data, and ensuring accurate and timely purchase order creation.
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years in a leadership or senior-level planning role, with demonstrated ability to guide and support team members.
