IT Project Manager Role Overview

As an IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and delivering IT projects from inception to completion. Your goal will be to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while aligning with business goals.

This role involves coordinating between technical teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery. You will need to develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.

Key responsibilities of this role include defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, managing changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques, and leading cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

You will also be required to liaise with business leaders, IT teams, and third-party vendors to ensure alignment, facilitate meetings, provide status updates, and ensure stakeholder expectations are managed.

Additionally, you will identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during project execution, implement best practices for IT project management to minimize risks, define and manage project budgets, allocate resources efficiently, balance project demands and business priorities, ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements, and track project performance providing detailed reports on project status, risks, and KPIs.

Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field; 4-7 years of experience in IT project management or a related field; proficiency in project management tools e.g., Jira, Microsoft Project; strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and cloud computing; knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies; excellent communication and leadership skills; strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities; ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
