Senior Software Engineering Manager - Sustaining Team Lead

This role involves leading a distributed team of software engineers in sustaining engineering, ensuring timely delivery of bug fixes and patches across various technologies including Linux, OpenStack, Ceph, Kubernetes, Juju, and MAAS.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead a distributed team of software engineers
  • Hire, coach, mentor, provide feedback, and career development guidance to team members
  • Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in software development and leadership
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with the company's values

Requirements:

  • Professional software delivery experience using C, C++, Go, Python, or similar
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about software development, with experience in debugging tools such as gdb, crash, or other
  • Leadership experience displaying ability to organize and prioritize complex problem resolution and bug fixes
  • Experience with version control systems like git
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Experience with Linux and open-source business models is preferred
