Remote Staff Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our finance team as a Staff Accountant (GL). The ideal candidate holds an accounting degree and demonstrates a strong aptitude for financial analysis and general ledgers.

  1. This role involves processing high volumes of vendor invoices, maintaining the General Ledger by recording all financial transactions accurately in the system, and preparing financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare reports and statements. They will also ensure the accuracy of accounts by reconciling discrepancies and making adjustments as necessary. Additionally, they will lead or assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, the candidate must have:

  1. An accounting degree
  2. Experience with General Ledgers
  3. A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  5. Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
  6. Strong organization and communication skills
  7. Accounting system: Great Plains (GP) or any ERP system
