Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, supporting their business and managing various tasks.

  • Process financial statements up to the Trial Balance stage for lodgement with the Australian Taxation Office.
  • Prepare Business Activity Statements and Installment Activity Statements for lodgement with the Australian Taxation Office.
  • Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
  • Prepare private tax returns, trust, partnership tax returns, and End of year compliance jobs.
  • Have experience with Division 7a loans.
  • Complete required tax reporting in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and update tax provision schedules.
  • Research and correct process errors that caused incorrect tax filings and negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues.
  • Mentor and review work for junior accountants.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A degree in Accountancy or Accounting Technology, preferably CPA licensed.
  • Total accounting and tax experience of more than 4 years, with at least 4 years of experience in AU tax accounting.
  • Leadership capabilities and interest in leading the team in the future.
  • Advantage if experienced in an accounting/audit firm.
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Attention to details and organized.
  • Good time management skills.
