Prior Authorization is a critical function in the healthcare industry, requiring a high level of accuracy and professionalism. As a Prior Authorization Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring that patients receive the necessary treatments and services.
">Key Responsibilities:- Verify Insurance Coverage: Ensure that patients have adequate insurance coverage for their medical needs, including medications, diagnostic tests, and procedures.
- Obtain Prior Authorizations: Secure prior authorizations from insurance providers for medications, diagnostic tests, and procedures.
- Schedule Patient Appointments: Accurately schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, and procedures in coordination with the Endocrinology team.
- Manage Inbound and Outbound Calls: Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound patient calls while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate clearly with patients regarding authorizations, scheduling, and preparation requirements.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to ensure smooth patient flow and minimize delays.
- Minimum Requirements: Minimum 2 years' experience in insurance verification, prior authorizations, and/or medical scheduling.
- Strong Skills: Strong knowledge of insurance processes, benefits verification, and prior authorization workflows.
- Excellent Communication: Excellent spoken English with a neutral or clear accent (critical for patient communication).
- Ability to Multitask: Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and patient-first attitude.
Bonus Points: Experience in an Endocrinology or specialty care setting is a plus.
