Hill Water Publishing is seeking a seasoned romance editor to refine stories of love, passion, and happily-ever-afters. As a member of our editorial team, you will play a crucial role in elevating characters, refining emotional arcs, and sharpening pacing to keep readers engaged.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developmental Editing: Strengthen storytelling, characterization, and trope delivery while maintaining author voice.
• Line Editing: Refine dialogue, sentence structure, and pacing to enhance the reading experience.
• Copyediting: Ensure every line is clean, consistent, and immersive, adhering to contemporary romance genre expectations.
• Genre Coaching: Guide authors on heat levels, payoffs, and beats to create engaging, binge-worthy novels.
• Collaboration: Deliver actionable feedback through tracked changes, editorial letters, and live calls.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional editing experience in contemporary romance.
• 3+ published romance novels edited (please provide ISBNs or retailer links).
• Advanced command of grammar, dialogue pacing, and formatting.
• Ability to spot sagging middles, sharpen arcs, and elevate tropes.
