Job Opportunity: Financial Manager for Real Estate Properties

Job Summary:

A financially astute and detail-oriented professional is sought after to manage the financial aspects of multiple real estate properties.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, be proficient in bookkeeping software such as AppFolio, QuickBooks, and Excel, and have a strong understanding of real estate accounting principles.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including bank accounts, trust accounts, and credit card statements.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor bills and tenant payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, trust accounts, and credit card statements on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare owner statements, financial reports, and draw schedules.
  • Monitor and manage tenant ledgers, security deposits, and lease-related transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and real estate-specific accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with property managers to resolve discrepancies and support audits.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and year-end financial preparations.
  • Handle tax documentation, 1099s, and other regulatory filings as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • CPA or Bookkeeping Certification (a plus).
  • Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in real estate.
  • Proven expertise in AppFolio software (required).
  • Experience managing financials for multiple properties or portfolios.
Preferred Skills & Tools:
  • Advanced proficiency in AppFolio, QuickBooks, and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
