Environmental and Social Development Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental and Social Development professional to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a real impact in the field of environmental and social development.

  • Job Description:
  • This role will involve providing support to infrastructure and energy transactions in the East Asia and Pacific region. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding clients and our investment and advisory teams on E&S risk assessment and management, in alignment with our Performance Standards and Sustainability Policy.
  • The position will report to the ESG Regional Manager for the EAP region.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead E&S due diligence (appraisals) of new investments in infrastructure, energy, oil and gas sectors.
  2. Provide guidance/input to our investment teams on E&S risk management in project decision-making and processing throughout the investment cycle.
  3. Ensure effective and efficient use of staff, consultants, and resources, and timely completion of deliverables when leading E&S appraisals/due diligence and supervision.
  4. Monitor portfolio clients and engage with clients and investment departments to achieve compliance with contractual E&S requirements.
  5. Contribute to portfolio analysis to identify systemic issues and assess trends.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree or equivalent in environmental management/engineering, economics or other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 10-12 years of professional experience working on E&S risk management in the international context.
  • Experience working on E&S Policies and Standards, including those of World Bank Group and other international financial institutions.
