About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Tax Accountant to join our team.

This is a remote work opportunity that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and time management abilities.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in accounting or audit, with expertise in Excel/Google Sheets and data analysis.

They will be responsible for preparing and submitting sales tax filings, monitoring tax collection variances, resolving time-critical issues, and assisting with special client projects.

The successful candidate will be able to balance competing demands effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

They will also be a strong team player, willing to learn new skills and technologies, and committed to delivering high-quality results.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit sales tax filings: Ensure data accuracy, prepare liabilities, and file monthly.
  • Monitor tax collection variances: Track variance between collected tax and liability; resolve issues with clients.
  • Resolve time-critical issues: Assist with notices from tax authorities and help clients file current returns.
  • Assist with special client projects: Late/amended returns, audits, and updating state information.
Requirements
  • 2+ Years of Accounting or Audit Experience: You know the ropes and can keep things running smoothly.
  • Multi-Client Master: Able to manage multiple clients and priorities while staying organized.
  • Excel/Google Sheets Guru: Proficient with complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
