Job Title: Loader

Ignite your career in the building industry with a dynamic role that requires hands-on skills and attention to detail. As a loader, you will be responsible for ensuring materials are safely loaded onto trucks or into designated areas, adhering to quality standards and customer requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Unload and load materials onto pallets, trucks, or customer vehicles, securing them with strapping, bracing, or padding as needed.
  • Assemble load packages according to customer orders and vehicle capacity, ensuring balanced and safe loads for transport.
  • Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine which materials need to be moved or loaded.
  • Transfer materials between storage areas and designated locations using hand trucks, electric dollies, forklifts, or other equipment.
  • Open containers, units, slings, and loads using hand tools like steel cutters, crowbars, claw-hammers, or other devices.
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or containers for correct identification.
  • Understand and implement all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to yourself or coworkers, attending regular safety meetings as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, along with at least three months of experience performing similar tasks; equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Hold a valid forklift operator certification.
  • Possess knowledge of company products sufficient to consider weight, shape, and handling requirements.
  • Be able to read and write to handle work orders and labeling tasks effectively.
  • Display manual dexterity and ability to use simple hand tools.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety procedures while performing forklift driving and materials handling tasks.
  • Apply common sense understanding to execute detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Count items accurately and verify against prepared lists.
