About this role

We are seeking a dedicated professional to support the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs related to medical coding and billing.

  • This includes developing and updating training modules and curriculum for coding and billing topics including ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, E/M coding, Edit Resolution, and RCM.
  • Maintaining and enhancing learning materials for the training program, ensuring alignment with current industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Designing and producing coding exercises, assessments, and qualifying exams specific to inpatient coding.
  • Delivering structured onboarding programs for new coders and refresher trainings for tenured staff.
  • Providing continuing education and ensuring coders maintain required certifications through CEUs.
  • Monitoring and consolidating assessment and quiz results; analyzing data and reporting performance metrics to leadership on a weekly basis.
  • Disseminating periodic updates on coding guidelines, payer rules, and internal policy changes.
  • Collaborating across departments to address training-related gaps impacting internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update training materials to align with industry standards.
  • Enhance learning materials to ensure they are engaging and effective.
  • Create coding exercises and assessments to test knowledge.
  • Deliver onboarding programs for new staff.
  • Provide continuing education to ensure certification requirements are met.
  • Analyze data to report performance metrics.
  • Keep up-to-date with coding guidelines and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Medical or Allied Medical course or equivalent work experience in medical coding and training.
  • At least 2 years of Medical Coding experience, and 1 year Trainer experience.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC - AAPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS - AHIMA) required.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
