Job Title: Outpatient Trainer

We are seeking an experienced professional to conduct medical coding education for new and existing medical coders. This is a unique opportunity to join our team and make a meaningful impact in the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop modules for medical coding and billing training, including ICD 10 CM, CPT, E/M coding, Business of Medicine, Edit Resolution, and Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Curate curriculum and training syllabus related to coding and billing training programs, including Periodic Updates, Policy updates, Peripherals of RCM, and Med-Metrix Learning Academy.
  • Maintain knowledge of ICD 10 CM, ICD 10 PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding guidelines.
  • Update existing training modules to ensure they remain current and relevant.
  • Design and produce materials for inpatient medical coding exercises, assessment, and qualifying examination.
  • Analyze coder scores from quizzes, exams, and assessments and present consolidated data during weekly meetings.
  • Promote continuing education units for staff certification.
  • Provide training and review for onboarding coders and refresher training for tenured coders.
  • Communicate changes and updates in guidelines and rules to the team.
  • Collaborate with workgroups to resolve issues impacting internal and external customers.
  • Evaluate compliance with Med-Metrix policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Graduate degree in Medical or Allied Medical course or equivalent work experience.
  • Certification in CPC from AAPC or CCS from AHIMA.
  • Proficiency in Revenue Cycle Management, E/M and Procedure Coding.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently in a team environment.
  • Adaptable to changing job responsibilities, shifting schedules, new procedures, and unexpected workloads.
