Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Tax Accountant to join our team.

  • This role involves performing a variety of accounting-related functions, including tax returns, bookkeeping, research, reconciliation, and budgeting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing various tax returns, work papers, and client books, as well as recognizing and making journal entries.

They will also be required to conduct independent research on necessary laws, prepare tax projections and planning tasks, and handle correspondences with IRS and state agencies.

In addition, the Tax Accountant will be responsible for performing external bookkeeping and related tasks, reviewing monthly and quarterly bookkeeping, and preparing W-2s, W-3s, 1099s, and 1096s at year-end.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance-related field
  • Proficient in tax and accounting software/tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, CCH Access/ProFX Tax, Intelliconnect Tax Research, Intelliforms, Tax Tools, CFS Payroll, Practice Management Time Entry, Accounting Research, PFX Tax Planning, Proseries Tax Planner, CCH Engagement External Bookkeeper
  • Licensed as a certified public accountant is a plus
  • Excellent grasp of all Microsoft 365 applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Aptitude in data management, analytics, and reporting preparation
  • Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
