Business Operations Specialist: Financial Performance and Analysis

About the Role

The position involves taking ownership of financial planning and analysis workflows, delivering timely and accurate reporting, and supporting strategic initiatives across a consumer brand's omnichannel business.

This role requires owning and maintaining dynamic operating models and cash flow forecasts to support budget creation and monthly reforecasting cycles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update forecasting models to ensure data accuracy and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Deliver regular financial dashboards and reports on revenue, margin, COGS, working capital, and EBITDA by channel.
  • Reconcile inventory data across platforms, analyze landed cost trends, and collaborate with operations teams to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Develop and enhance Excel/Google Sheets models, automate workflows and reporting using AI tools and macros where appropriate.
  • Support the preparation of finance packages and investor updates with a high level of accuracy and presentation quality.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of cohort performance, pricing changes, product/channel profitability, or working capital scenarios.
Requirements
  • 3-7 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or accounting.
  • Experience with inventory-heavy or omnichannel consumer businesses is highly valued.
  • Ability to work comfortably with US-based finance teams and time zones.
  • High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, with the ability to build complex models from scratch.
  • Strong analytical skills, comfortable working with messy datasets, CSVs, EDI files, and cross-functional teams.
  • Able to translate complex data into actionable insights for operators and executives.
  • Flexibility to overlap with New York business hours for at least 4-5 hours per day.
