We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate developer relations engineer to join our team.

This role will be responsible for engaging with open-source communities, fostering innovation, and driving business growth through strategic partnerships.

  • Participate in product meetings, contributing insight and expertise on software development and deployment.
  • Maintain conversations with developer community members across various platforms.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from other teams to establish commonality and consistent approaches.
  • Help solve technical problems that users or colleagues have identified.
  • Contribute to technical documentation to ensure that developer users' needs are met.
  • Work on technical articles, presentations, or workshops.
  • Identify new opportunities and directions for improvement in the developer experience we provide.
  • Present at conferences, meetups, or technical events.
Requirements:
  • Programmer or developer with a demonstrable passion for and engagement in open-source software.
  • Experience working with real-world challenges developing and deploying software using Linux.
  • Practical hands-on experience of Linux software packaging (including Snaps, debs, charms, rocks, PIP, containers).
  • Understanding of current software packing issues and trends in the Linux ecosystem.
  • Contributor to open-source communities, software, and documentation.
  • Engaging speaker and presenter.
  • Effective, tactful, empathetic, and confident communicator.
  • Willingness to travel globally for company events and upstream/partner events.
Additional Skills:
  • Previous experience in developer advocacy or community roles.
  • In-depth familiarity with Ubuntu and the Canonical ecosystem of products.
