Job Role Overview

The Patient Services Representative plays a pivotal part in addressing patient inquiries and concerns by means of active listening and interviewing. They coordinate information among patients, family members, medical personnel, and administrative staff to support patient healthcare treatment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Respond to incoming calls in adherence to established procedures and departmental standards.
  • Assist patients with their care-related queries and concerns.
  • Collect outstanding balances from patients.
  • Collaborate with third-party entities, such as insurance companies, to address account-related questions.
  • Make outbound collection calls according to procedures and departmental standards.
  • Aid patients in resolving billing issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality of protected health information by adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Support team goals through teamwork and open communication.
  • Earn reliability and punctuality through good attendance and timely return from breaks.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A college degree or at least two years of college education is preferred; coursework related to the medical field can be advantageous.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Show ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Perform mathematical calculations with accuracy.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Possess proficiency in email usage.
