Job Opportunity: Medical Coding Educator

Job Overview

We are seeking a Medical Coding Educator to join our team. As a key member of our education department, you will be responsible for developing and delivering medical coding training programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive training modules on ICD 10 CM, CPT, E/M coding, Business of Medicine, Edit Resolution, and Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create curriculum and training syllabus for coding and billing training programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of ICD 10 CM, ICD 10 PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding guidelines to ensure accuracy in training materials.
  • Update existing training modules to reflect changes in coding regulations and guidelines.
  • Design and develop interactive training exercises, assessments, and qualifying examinations for inpatient medical coding.
  • Consolidate coder scores from quizzes, exams, and assessments to provide feedback and track progress.
  • Provide continuing education units to maintain staff certifications.
  • Offer onboarding training for new coders and refresher training for experienced coders.
  • Communicate changes and updates in guidelines and rules to internal stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with workgroups to resolve issues impacting customers.
  • Understand and comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in monthly calibration training to ensure consistency in coding practices.
  • Develop assessments to evaluate learnings from calibration training.
  • Consolidate coder scores from calibration assessment and present data to operations.
  • Assist QA Supervisor and QATM with account launch to ensure smooth onboarding.
  • Support QA Team by providing feedback for TNA, RCA, and educational note creation.
  • Audit QA staff to monitor coding and auditing accuracy.
