Inpatient Coding Trainer Role Summary
Job Description:
We seek a knowledgeable Inpatient Coding Trainer to design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs. This role is responsible for creating instructional materials, conducting assessments, and providing onboarding and refresher training sessions to support coder readiness, compliance, and performance.
Responsibilities include developing and updating training modules, maintaining learning materials, designing coding exercises and assessments, delivering structured onboarding programs, providing continuing education, and monitoring assessment results.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates must have a medical or allied medical course degree, at least 2 years of medical coding experience, and 1 year of trainer experience. Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC - AAPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS - AHIMA) is also required.
Ideal candidates will possess knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and Revenue Cycle Management, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivation, adaptability, and ability to work independently or collaboratively are essential.
