Language Development Specialist

This role is responsible for delivering expert guidance and support to language trainers in order to enhance their professional development, teaching effectiveness, and assessment skills.
The specialist will collaborate closely with language trainers to provide personalized coaching, feedback, and resources aimed at improving instructional techniques, lesson planning skills, assessment skills, and overall language training abilities.
A key aspect of this position is facilitating engaging and interactive online training programs for language trainers, which contributes to the success of the learning solutions offered by our organization.
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Mentor and support language trainers: Provide individualized coaching and support to language trainers, fostering their growth and development as educators. Conduct regular coaching sessions to offer constructive feedback and opportunities for practice to refine trainers' teaching and assessment skills
- Facilitate online training sessions: Facilitate discussions, answer questions, and encourage active participation from trainers and assessors. Offer timely feedback and guidance to participants, promoting a supportive and collaborative learning environment. Administer quizzes and other evaluation methods to gauge participant understanding and knowledge retention. Analyze evaluation data and provide recommendations for program improvement.
- Develop training materials: Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and instructional designers to develop online training materials, including presentations, guides, and multimedia content, ensuring that they are effective, interactive, and visually appealing.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities: Identify professional development needs of language trainers and assessors, and coordinate relevant training sessions, workshops, or webinars. Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in language teaching and share relevant information with trainers and assessors.
To be successful in this position, you should possess:
- Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, communication, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Extensive experience as a language trainer, instructor, or educator, preferably with experience in coaching or mentoring.
- Excellent understanding of various language proficiency frameworks (e.g., CEFR) and their application in training.
- Proficiency in using web conferencing tools, learning management systems (LMS), and other online training platforms.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely, and to provide constructive feedback and guidance effectively.
- Certifications in online training, virtual facilitation, language teaching, coaching, and language assessments, or related areas are highly valued.
