A leading organization is seeking a skilled professional to handle day-to-day finance tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, VAT preparation, and month-end reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience in finance, excellent attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
About the RoleAs an accounting specialist, you will work closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team to manage transactional finance processes. Your responsibilities will include managing finance inbox, processing supplier invoices, credit cards, and employee expenses, raising purchase orders, preparing payment runs, and tracking payment status.
The role requires strong working knowledge of accounting principles and month-end/year-end processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, and experience with NetSuite is a plus.
This is a project-based role with full-time hours, ideal for candidates who can commit to a 9-month engagement. You will have the opportunity to work remotely and enjoy a flexible schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Manage finance inbox and accurately process supplier invoices, credit cards, and employee expenses.
- Raise purchase orders upon request and ensure alignment with financial records.
- Prepare weekly payment runs for review and processing.
- Send sales invoices, track payment status, and follow up with debtors as needed.
- Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts and ensure transactional integrity.
- Support the preparation and filing of VAT returns in compliance with UK tax standards.
- Assist in the preparation of accruals, prepayments, fixed asset register maintenance, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Collate and prepare year-end data and support audit documentation requests.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience within a finance function.
- Experience in UK GAAP and IFRS is highly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and month-end/year-end processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with NetSuite is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently.
- Understanding of data privacy and financial compliance standards.
