Medical File Reviewer/PHRN Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical File Reviewer/PHRN to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for reviewing medical records and creating detailed synopses to inform medical opinions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare case files and Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) assigned in the client portal.
  • Review and bookmark medical records, creating a synopsis to answer medical opinion questions based on the veteran's medical history.
  • Remotely assist medical providers during scheduled appointments of veterans by accessing, navigating, and preparing apps in the medical provider's computer, remotely interviewing veterans via video or telephone conference platform, transcribing medical history, documenting physical examination findings, and completing DBQ spreadsheets after each appointment.
  • Meet with medical providers to discuss assigned cases to determine final diagnosis per DBQ and approve medical opinions.
  • Transfer data from DBQ spreadsheet to client portal, submit DBQs, and answer queries/addendum reports from clients' QAs.
  • Coordinate with medical providers and team members regarding scheduled appointments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), active PHRN license.
  • Excellent communication skills to assist veterans, medical providers, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility in work schedule changes as needed.
  • Accountability for all assigned cases.
  • Proficiency in MS applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Assistance in process improvement and creation of process-related templates.
