Job Title: Knowledge Base Writer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Knowledge Base Writer to create and organize helpful articles and guides for our customers and employees. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, be able to explain complex information in simple ways, and work well with technical teams.

Responsibilities
  1. Write clear technical documents (like software guides, user manuals, how-to articles, and update notes)
  2. Work with software developers and product teams to understand new features
  3. Translate technical language into simple English that anyone can understand
  4. Create helpful images like diagrams, screenshots, and flowcharts
  5. Organize documents so people can easily find what they need
  6. Test the instructions you write to make sure they work correctly
  7. Update old documents to keep them accurate and useful
  8. Work with support teams to understand what documentation is needed
  9. Create standard formats and templates to keep all documents consistent
  10. Work on new projects and suggest ways to improve our documentation
Requirements
  1. Must be a Tier III employee or higher
  2. Must meet or exceed quality standards
  3. No current disciplinary warnings
  4. Good attendance record
  5. Can work from any location
  6. Must work Monday-Friday, 6 AM to 5 PM Central Time
  7. Strong writing skills - can explain difficult things in simple ways
  8. Experience writing different types of technical documents
  9. Comfortable asking engineers many questions to get information
  10. Knowledge of documentation software like Confluence, Zendesk Guide, or similar
  11. Good research skills to find information from different places
  12. Can manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  13. Good organization and problem-solving skills
  14. Works well with others and communicates clearly
Preferred Experience
  1. Writing API documentation (guides for programmers)
  2. Experience with 'docs-as-code' (treating documentation like code)
  3. Experience with Confluence and Jira software
  4. Documentation for online marketplaces or platforms
  5. Experience in lawn care or home services industry
