Main Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's data protection policies and procedures.
  • Risk Assessments: Conduct data privacy impact assessments and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and other relevant regulations.
  • Data Processing Oversight: Oversee and monitor data processing activities to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for data subjects, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders regarding data privacy concerns.
  • Training and Awareness: Provide training and awareness programs to employees on data privacy best practices.
  • Breach Investigation: Investigate data breaches, report findings to relevant authorities, and implement corrective actions.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain records of data processing activities and ensure documentation compliance.
  • Collaboration and Liaison: Collaborate with IT, legal, HR, and other departments to enhance data security measures.
  • Contract Review: Review contracts, agreements, and third-party engagements to ensure compliance with data protection standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Security, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification: Certification in Data Privacy (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CDPSE) is an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, legal, or a related role.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of data protection laws, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and international standards such as GDPR.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and guide employees on data privacy matters.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Industry Experience: Experience working in the distribution, logistics, or supply chain industry is a plus.
