Database Administrator

Candidates will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of complex databases in a 24x7 highly available environment.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge and experience with SQL development and administration disciplines, including proficiency in SQL Server releases. They will also work under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.

Responsibilities include providing technical expertise to a team responsible for the support of Microsoft SQL Server and cloud native databases, as well as hands-on experience with cloud native databases, compute, storage, monitoring technologies, and continuous integration pipelines.

Candidates will leverage metrics to drive capacity planning and trending, collaborate with teams to evolve overall database services and technology strategies, and respectfully challenge the status quo.

They will also understand the place of automation and standardization when delivering stable, maintainable, and performant database services at scale.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or related field, and 5+ years of experience in database administration. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal, and be familiar with ITIL processes and DevOps.
