Learning and Development Director Position

This role involves leading the discovery process to identify client training needs and creating proposals that incorporate learning principles, current technologies, and innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate will design and develop training content for diverse methodologies, focusing on creating engaging learning experiences that prepare consultants to effectively respond to various customer interactions.

The position requires developing and implementing training-related assessments to align with defined objectives and ensuring the effectiveness of training designs.

This leadership role also involves acting as the primary contact for stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships, and serving as an escalation point for project issues.

The successful candidate will oversee project risks and issues, collaborating closely with the team to mitigate and resolve concerns efficiently.

Strategic Leadership and Performance Management

The Learning and Development Director will analyze team performance regularly to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

They will develop and implement a roadmap for innovation strategies, ensuring these are effectively executed and shared with internal and external stakeholders.

This role requires managing budget approvals, maintaining expense trackers, and overseeing financial documents, including requisitions and invoices.

The ideal candidate will build and conduct Train the Trainer sessions to equip trainers with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively deliver designed training.

They will utilize Kirkpatrick's Four Levels of Evaluation to assess the impact and effectiveness of training programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and continuous learning improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/College Degree
  • More than 10 years' experience in a learning and development environment focusing on training curriculum design, development, and delivery.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a learning solutions environment or similar.
  • Extensive experience in Instructional Design and/or Training Delivery.
  • Understanding of the ADDIE and SAM Processes for project scoping, design, and development.
  • Demonstrated capability in project management, including managing multiple projects simultaneously, even those that may fall outside of core responsibilities.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written and oral English.
  • Deep knowledge of Adult Learning Principles, Constructivism, learning theories, and various learning models/principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with peers and drive diverse workgroups to collaborative solutions.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to train trainers.
