Job Title: Software QA Functional Tester

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced software quality assurance professional to join our team as a functional tester. This is an external contractor role, structured around specific project requirements, with opportunities for continued work through other projects or extensions depending on organizational priorities.

In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products by collaborating closely with the QA team to analyze and interpret requirements, derive relevant test scenarios, and execute comprehensive test cases.

  • Analyze provided requirements and specifications to ensure they meet the necessary standards and are feasible to implement.
  • Define a suitable test plan and strategy to effectively cover all aspects of the product.
  • Plan, estimate, and prioritize testing activities to ensure timely completion and minimal disruption to development workflows.
  • Create comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and test data to thoroughly validate the product's functionality.
  • Produce proof of tests to demonstrate the effectiveness of your work and identify areas for improvement.
  • Accurately identify, record, and document defects to enable swift resolution and minimize their impact on the product.
  • Track reported defects and discuss them with the engineering and product teams to ensure prompt attention and resolution.

The ideal candidate has:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing, preferably with a focus on functional testing.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps for managing test plans, executing tests, and generating reports.
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes, including Agile and Scrum.
  • Hands-on experience in requirements analysis, test planning, test case detailing, and defect tracking.
  • Ability to quickly learn custom development frameworks and new technologies, adapting to changing project requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.

Applicants must be able to work independently, maintain a reliable high-speed internet connection, and adhere to a dedicated schedule from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Manila Time).

They must also be available for scheduled and ad-hoc calls, meetings, and chats during weekday working hours, and have access to a quiet, professional workspace suitable for video meetings and calls.
