Job Summary

">About the Role

We are seeking an experienced accountant to join our finance team as a Staff Accountant (GL). The ideal candidate holds an accounting degree and has strong skills in financial analysis, general ledgers, and Microsoft Excel.

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for processing high-volume vendor invoices, maintaining accurate General Ledger records, preparing periodic financial statements, and reconciling accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process high volume of vendor invoices timely and accurately
  • Maintain accurate General Ledger: Record all financial transactions accurately in the general ledger system
  • Prepare Financial Statements: Generate periodic financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Financial Reporting: Compile and analyze financial information to prepare reports and statements
  • Reconcile Accounts: Ensure accuracy of accounts by reconciling discrepancies and making adjustments as necessary
  • Month-end and Year-end Close: Lead or assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Handle Accruals and Prepayments: Manage accruals for expenses incurred but not yet paid and prepayments for expenses paid in advance
  • Assist in Audits: Provide necessary information and support during internal and external audits
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance
  • Comply with Accounting Standards: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial reporting requirements

Requirements

Candidate Qualifications
  • Accounting degree
  • Experience with GLs
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in English (verbal and written)
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Accounting system: Great Plains (GP) or any ERP system

Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office environment. The employee will be largely sedentary and will be required to sit/stand for long periods while using a computer and telephone headset. The employee will be regularly required to operate a computer and other office equipment, including a phone, copier, and printer. The employee may occasionally be required to move about the office to accomplish tasks; reach in any direction; raise or lower objects, move objects from place to place, hold onto objects, and move or exert force up to forty (40) pounds.
