Job Title: Bid Development Specialist

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Bid Development Specialist to support the development of winning proposals that help clients achieve their objectives.

This role involves working closely with our Sales Team and Proposal Managers to create and develop proposals in response to commercial and public sector RFx/tenders. Key responsibilities include reviewing requests for proposals, capturing win themes, developing proposal plans and templates, collaborating with technology partners on content creation, and reviewing proposals for grammar, punctuation, and consistency in style and formatting.

  • Reviewing solicitation requirements and other proposal elements to determine resource needs and schedules;
  • Maintaining close working relationships with RFx team members and key internal stakeholders to generate proposals – including document preparation, team coordination, writing, editing, proofreading, compliance, overall quality control, and deadline adherence;
  • Defining win strategies, themes, discriminators, key messages, and other pertinent proposal content;

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in proposal development, experience with proposal software, and proficiency in MS Office Suite. APMP certification is a plus. Experience working on remote teams and proven writing, editing, and proofing skills are also essential.

Responsibilities:

  1. Managing multiple proposals simultaneously, ensuring each submission is clear, accurate, and strategically positioned to win;
  2. Drafting, reviewing, and editing proposal responses, executive summaries, and supporting materials, focusing on client-centric and persuasive content aligned with brand standards;
  3. Conducting thorough reviews for accuracy, compliance, and clarity, with special attention to detail incorporating feedback from internal stakeholders;

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in proposal development;
  • Strong background developing win strategies, proposal plans, and other key deliverables for successful proposals;
  • APMP certification or experience with APMP, Shipley, and/or similar methodologies is a plus;
  • Familiarity with proposal software (e.g. Responsive or equivalent) for content management and workflow automation;
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with Microsoft Dynamics CRM experience preferred;
