Central Ordering Manager Position

Job Description:

The Central Ordering Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and timely procurement of materials and services required for various projects. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the central ordering processes within our department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the central ordering team in the purchasing of materials and services, ensuring all orders are placed accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to project timelines.
  • Track performance and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure that materials are available when needed without overstocking, implementing inventory management best practices to minimize waste and optimize storage space.
  • Continuously assess and improve ordering processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs, implementing new technologies and systems as necessary.
  • Work closely with centre delivery managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure that all ordering activities support project goals.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on ordering activities, supplier performance, and cost savings, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, preferably within the construction or fit-out industry.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team, with strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and inventory management systems.
  • High attention to detail, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
