High-Performing DevOps Leader

We are seeking an experienced High-Performing DevOps Leader to lead our Information Systems team in a world-class devops and gitops engineering management challenge. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our organization by driving strategic initiatives and developing cutting-edge solutions.

About the Role

This role entails leading a high-performance team, managing operations, software engineering, and product development. The successful candidate will be a Linux and operations expert, with experience in infrastructure as code, devops teams, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities
  • Lead your team in daily agile devops practices, focusing on collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the IS team to stakeholders, customers, and internal teams, fostering strong relationships and effective communication.
  • Organize, coordinate, and drive internal projects, ensuring timely delivery and meeting project objectives.
  • Mentor engineers to improve their skills, promoting professional growth and development within the team.
  • Identify and measure team health indicators, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes.
  • Implement structured engineering and operations processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing risk.
  • Ensure proper team focus on priorities, milestones, and deliverables, aligning individual goals with organizational objectives.
  • Work to meet service level agreements with customer deployments around the globe, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Drive and a track record of going above-and-beyond expectations, consistently delivering exceptional results.
  • Proven experience of software delivery using infrastructure as code, demonstrating expertise in cloud-native technologies.
  • Proven experience managing devops teams for SAAS or similar offerings, with a focus on scalability and reliability.
  • Understanding of testing methodologies and maintainable code quality, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products.
  • Technical aptitude for understanding complex distributed systems, with a solid foundation in computer science and software engineering.
  • Experience with cloud topologies and technologies, including containerization and serverless computing.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with Ubuntu system administration, enhancing operational efficiency and streamlining system maintenance.
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies, promoting flexibility and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience working in and managing distributed teams, leveraging global talent pools and fostering collaboration across geographic boundaries.
