Job Description

The Central Ordering Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing central ordering processes. This position ensures efficient and timely procurement of materials and services required for various projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing a strong customer service ethos within the team by demonstrating excellence personally and coaching team members to deliver a customer-focused experience.
  • Leading the central ordering team in purchasing materials and services, ensuring accurate and timely orders adhere to project timelines.
  • Tracking supplier performance and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Monitoring inventory levels to minimize waste and optimize storage space, implementing inventory management best practices.
  • Continuously assessing and improving ordering processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs, implementing new technologies and systems as necessary.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure ordering activities support project goals.
  • Preparing and presenting regular reports on ordering activities, supplier performance, and cost savings, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensuring all ordering activities comply with industry regulations and legal requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team, with strong leadership skills to motivate and develop team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and inventory management systems.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
