Job Title: Real Estate Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Specialist to manage our real estate financial records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management: Manage and maintain accurate financial records for real estate properties, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Appfolio Software Expertise: Utilize Appfolio software for financial management, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and cash flow reports to ensure timely and informed decision-making.
  • Closing Process: Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper recording of transactions.
  • Financial Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on the financial performance of real estate assets.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with property managers and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial data.
  • Audit Support: Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in real estate accounting.
  • Proficiency in Appfolio software and other accounting tools.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and real estate finance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
