Creative Content Developer

We are seeking a skilled Content Development Specialist to join our team. This role involves developing and enhancing written content for college applications, providing detailed feedback, and emphasizing clarity, style, and structure.
As a Content Development Specialist, you will play a significant role in shaping the educational experience of students. You will be responsible for brainstorming with our College Admissions Team's Consultants about the direction of essays, giving feedback to students, and editing their rough drafts to fix grammar, clarity, style, flow, structure, and word count.
- Writing and Editing: The Content Development Specialist will work closely with the College Admissions Team to review and revise essays through extensive rounds of edits.
- Research: Depending on the student's interest and profile, the Content Development Specialist will conduct research to strengthen their work.
- Collaboration: As a member of our Editing Team, the Content Development Specialist will collaborate with team members to draft, brainstorm, augment, and review assignments, especially those with urgent deadlines.
- Administration and Logistics: The Content Development Specialist will be responsible for administrative tasks associated with their assignments, including communicating logistical needs, organizing send-outs of completed assignments, drafting email updates and reminders, scheduling review meetings, notetaking, and preparing meeting notes.
- Business Development: During the off-season, the Content Development Specialist may work on projects that contribute to the growth of the team and company overall.
Requirements:
- Exceptional English verbal and written skills with a strong grip on grammar.
- Graduated from a 4-year degree program in English, Literature, Journalism, Education, or related fields. Graduates from other fields are encouraged to apply but written samples will be heavily scrutinized.
- Experience working for an education consulting company specializing in college admissions is preferred but not required.
- Portfolio with a minimum of three written samples (one creative piece and one research sample are encouraged).
- Experience working during PST hours is preferred but not required.
- Ability to edit and write skillfully without using AI tools.
