Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Accounting operations, including financial accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other related functions.
  • Implement training for new hires and identify training opportunities for current staff.
  • Oversee the system of internal controls over Accounting functions to minimize risk.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile a wide variety of financial data to maintain accurate account balances and ensure compliance with established accounting practices.
  • Provide support to other departmental personnel regarding procedures and program requirements to ensure efficient processing in compliance with government policy and established regulatory guidelines.
  • Research discrepancies of financial information and/or documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence to established procedures prior to processing.
  • Assist in performing general ledger accounting functions as needed to ensure that department functions are completed in an accurate and timely manner during short times of need.
  • Inform other staff regarding procedural requirements to facilitate financial compliance within established practices.
  • Maintain a wide variety of financial information, files, and records to ensure the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies and regulatory guidelines, especially for BIR Compliance.
  • Comply with local and national government requirements.
  • Check and review all reports coming from Sales Accounting Clerk, Disbursement Clerk, Payroll & Purchasing Clerk, and Inventory Audit Clerk.
  • Prepare necessary journal entries and adjusting entries.
  • Supervise and provide overall guidance to the accounting department.
  • Perform other related duties assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Five (5) years or more related experience, especially in BIR Compliance.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation is highly preferred.
