Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in U.S. sales tax compliance, accounting principles, and financial regulations.


Main Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across multiple U.S. states and local jurisdictions, ensuring 100% accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage sales tax registrations, nexus tracking, and timely renewals, maintaining a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
  • Maintain and validate tax exemption certificates, providing support to the sales and customer service teams with taxability questions.
  • Collaborate with tax engine vendors to configure tax codes and ensure system accuracy.
  • Monitor and respond to state notices, audits, or discrepancy letters in coordination with external advisors.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in state and local sales tax laws, providing internal updates and risk guidance.
  • Process customer refunds, ensuring accurate and efficient transactions.
  • Support the Revenue Accounting process with weekly reconciliations.
  • Assist the U.S. accounting team with month-end close, including reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
  • Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and answer external auditor questions as needed.
  • Contribute to internal controls improvement, documentation of processes, and cross-training initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably including hands-on U.S. sales tax work.
  • Familiarity with U.S. state and local sales tax compliance.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setup and support U.S. time zones.
  • Experience working with U.S.-based companies, particularly customers.
  • Experience using tax automation tools and ERP systems.
