Electronic Data Interchange Consultant Job Overview
Our company is seeking an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) consultant to join our team. As an EDI consultant, you will play a crucial role in analyzing business requirements, designing and implementing EDI solutions, mapping data, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

EDIs are a key component of modern business operations, enabling the efficient exchange of data between trading partners. In this role, you will optimize data exchange processes, enhance operational efficiency, and drive business success by fostering strong relationships with trading partners.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze business requirements to create detailed EDI specifications and workflows.
  • Design and implement EDI integrations between internal systems and external trading partners.
  • Configure EDI software and communication protocols.
  • Assist in onboarding new trading partners and maintain EDI maps for various standards.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance during data transformation and monitor EDI transmissions.
  • Create and maintain documentation for EDI processes and provide expert guidance on best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Conduct testing and validation of EDI documents and lead QA efforts for transactions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems and processes.
  • Strong knowledge of EDI standards and protocols.
  • Proficient with EDI mapping and translation tools.
  • Familiar with communication protocols like SFTP, FTP, and HTTPS.
  • Experience with ERP systems and their EDI integration.
  • Knowledge of programming languages for customization and automation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new technologies.
  • Customer service-oriented with relevant certifications.
  • Industry experience in Retail, Automotive, Healthcare, Logistics, or Finance.
