Authorization and Insurance Verifier

We are seeking an experienced Authorization and Eligibility Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying insurance eligibility, benefits, exclusions, deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurance for occupational and speech therapy patients.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and calculate patient responsibility (worst- and best-case scenarios).
- Contact insurance providers to resolve discrepancies or misquoted benefits.
- Enter benefit details into forms and track authorization requirements.
- Complete good-faith estimates and re-verify insurance coverage based on denial codes.
- Maintain accurate and updated EMR records using E-Bridge Software.
- Review medical records to ensure authorization and eligibility accuracy.
- Ensure all services have valid authorizations to prevent denials.
- Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Work effectively with providers, insurers, and patients to resolve authorization and billing issues.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience handling insurance authorizations, eligibility, and benefits verification for OT, PT, and SLP clinics (pediatrics preferred).
- Proficient in insurance portals, calling insurers, and EMR data entry.
- Ideal candidate has experience with Fusion Web Clinic EMR (Therapy Brands).
- Strong medical terminology, anatomy, and insurance billing knowledge.
- Detail-oriented, hardworking, and diligent with a strong understanding of reimbursement processes.
