The Role

A successful Data Strategist must have experience with various data mining and analysis methods, using a range of tools, building and implementing models, and creating/running simulations. They must drive business results with their data-based insights.

Tech Requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for advanced data analysis.
  • Experience in data collection, tagging, tracking, cleaning, and mining.
  • Experience in visualizing data through different tools (Excel, Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, R, etc.).
  • Proficient in doing descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analysis and knowing when to apply each.
  • Experience working with and creating data architectures.
  • Has 2-5 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, etc.) and experience with applications is preferred.
  • Experience using statistical tools and computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets is a plus but not mandatory.
Domain Expertise
  • Working knowledge of how data works in the digital landscape, primarily social media, ecommerce platforms, and website analytics.
  • Experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers: Google Analytics, Site Catalyst, Coremetrics, Adwords, Crimson Hexagon, Facebook Insights, etc.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
