Australian Payroll and Bookkeeping Expert

The key responsibilities of this role include:
Bookkeeping & Payroll Management
- Process and record financial transactions using XERO and other accounting software.
- Prepare accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and maintain accurate records.
- Complete and submit BAS returns on a timely basis.
- Verify the accuracy of financial records and report any discrepancies to the Accountant.
- Develop and maintain effective internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
Payroll Administration
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee details, salaries, and benefits.
- Generate and process payroll files for clients.
- Update payroll records to reflect changes in employee information or benefits.
- Prepare detailed reports on payroll-related matters, including earnings, tax deductions, and leave entitlements.
- Calculate and manage payroll liabilities, including employee taxes, superannuation, and workers' compensation.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and address any employee queries.
System Experience
- Xero and other cloud-based payroll systems.
Key Skills
- Strong accounting and bookkeeping knowledge.
- Experience with Australian taxation laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
