Chief Financial Strategist

The Senior Financial Controller will oversee the financial operations of a company, including its subsidiaries. The role is responsible for managing entity-level and group-wide financial processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strategic alignment.

• Manage Accounts Receivable, including quote preparation, invoicing, and payment reminders.
• Manage Accounts Payable, including purchase orders and payout scheduling.
• Perform reconciliation of payments and payouts for entity transactions.
• Record manual journals for entity-specific transactions and adjust P/L and B/S movements.
• Implement authorisation controls for entity expenses and manage expense processes via Budgetly.
• Oversee authorisation controls for entity payments and approve vendor and contractor payments.
• Establish financial controls for entity-specific purchase orders and approvals.
• Prepare quarterly BAS and annual returns for each entity and ensure entity compliance with local tax obligations.
• Provide financial insights for entity decision-making through management reporting.
• Implement entity-specific revenue recognition rules and ensure compliance with AASB 15.
• Develop and approve budgets for each entity and track and analyse entity-specific budget variances.
• Prepare financial forecasts for each entity and conduct scenario analysis for entity cash flow needs.
• Manage schedules for entity-specific tangible and intangible assets and ensure compliance with AASB 138.
• Oversee entity-specific payroll processing, superannuation, and PAYG compliance.
• Administer entity-specific commission and bonus schedules and obtain sign-off for entity-level bonus structures.
• Track revenue and costs for entity-specific projects and manage deferred revenue and project profitability.
• Value and amortise entity-specific IP assets and track royalty income/expenses for each entity (if required).
• Manage payments to entity-specific vendors, freelancers, and talent and ensure PAYG and superannuation compliance for entity contractors.
• Manage eliminations for group consolidation and oversee intercompany loans, service agreements, and cost allocations.
• Prepare group-level financial reports and consolidate financials across all entities.
• Manage cash pooling and liquidity across the group and oversee FX management for cross-border transactions.
• Establish arm's length pricing for inter-company transactions and maintain documentation for tax compliance.
• Develop group tax strategies and manage dividend repatriation and group tax filings.
• Draft and maintain agreements for shared services and allocate costs and ensure group tax compliance.
• Prepare group-level cash flow forecasts and analyse cash needs across entities for events and campaigns.
• Identify and mitigate group financial risks and implement group-wide financial policies.
• Evaluate group debt vs. equity financing and manage dividend policies for client shareholders.
• Monitor and report on group debt facilities and manage interest and principal payments.
• Manage group consolidation and tax advisory projects and support ad-hoc group financial initiatives.
• Coordinate external audits for all entities and prepare group audit schedules and reconcile inter-company balances.
• Conduct financial due diligence for group acquisitions and integrate new entities into group financial systems.
• Prepare group financial reports for shareholders, board, and external stakeholders and manage investor relations for group funding needs.
